The Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) has officially announced the opening of applications for the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship Program for Academic Year 2026–2027.

This program is one of the most prestigious government scholarships in the Philippines, designed to support academically talented students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.

Overview of the DOST Scholarship

The DOST Scholarship aims to develop a pool of highly qualified Filipino scientists and engineers to help accelerate the country’s national development.

It provides full financial assistance to eligible students who plan to pursue STEM-related degrees in recognized higher education institutions in the Philippines.

Scholarship Benefits

DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholars will receive the following financial support:

A. Regular Academic Year

  • Tuition and other school fees (private HEIs): ₱40,000/year
  • Learning materials and/or connectivity allowance: ₱10,000/year
  • Monthly living allowance: ₱8,000/month
  • Clothing allowance: ₱1,000 (first semester of first year only)
  • Transportation allowance: 1 economy-class roundtrip fare
  • Group health and accident insurance: Premium covered
  • Thesis allowance: ₱10,000
  • Graduation allowance: ₱1,000

B. Summer/Mid-Year Term (If required by curriculum)

  • Tuition and other school fees: Up to ₱10,000
  • Learning materials and/or connectivity allowance: ₱2,000
  • Monthly living allowance: ₱8,000/month (for two months)
  • Group health and accident insurance: Premium covered

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Must be a natural-born Filipino citizen
  • Must be in good moral character and good health
  • Must not have earned any post-secondary (college or vocational) units

Academic Qualifications

For Grade 12 students graduating in SY 2025–2026:

  • STEM Strand: All students in STEM
  • Non-STEM Strand: Must be in the top 5% of the graduating class

For Grade 12 graduates from previous years (not yet enrolled in college):

  • STEM Strand: All graduates
  • Non-STEM Strand: Must be in the top 5% of the graduating class
  • May have applied for the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship before but did not qualify
  • May have qualified but did not avail of the scholarship

Documentary Requirements

Applicants must prepare and submit the following documents:

  • Form C – Certificate of Good Moral Character
  • Form D – Certificate of Good Health
  • Principal’s Certification
  • Form E1 to E4 – Depending on strand and learning method (STEM, Non-STEM, Homeschool, ALS)
  • Form F – Certificate of Residency
  • Form G – Parent’s Certification (no pending immigration application)
  • Form H – DOST-SEI Scholarship Examination/Award
  • Form I – Certification of No Post-Secondary Units
  • Form J – Signed Declaration of Applicant and Parent/Guardian
  • Recent Passport-sized Photo (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm)
  • Birth Certificate
  • Proof of Income (submit at least one depending on employment type):
    • 2024 Income Tax Return (ITR)
    • BIR Form 1701
    • OFW Employment Contract
    • Certificate of Indigency or Employment
    • Pension documents (if applicable)
  • Notarized Affidavit of Guardianship (if applicable)
  • Marriage Certificate (if applicable)
