Security Bank Scholarship 2026 Applications Now Open for Incoming and Continuing College Students

The Security Bank Foundation has opened applications for the Security Bank Foundation Scholars for Better Communities Scholarship Program for the academic year 2026-2027, covering incoming first-year college students and, in limited slots, continuing college students enrolled in its partner universities.

The scholarship aims to provide educational assistance to underprivileged but deserving students studying in Security Bank Foundation partner schools. The Foundation funds the scholarship, while partner schools handle the screening and selection of applicants, disbursement of benefits, and monitoring of scholars’ performance.

What are the Partner Schools

The program is open only to students enrolled in one of the following 8 partner universities:

Ateneo De Manila University
Chiang Kai Shek College
De La Salle University – Manila
Far Eastern University – Manila
Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila
Polytechnic University of the Philippines – Manila
University of the Philippines – Diliman
University of Santo Tomas – Manila

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be an incoming first-year college student in any of the 8 partner universities, or a continuing college student (limited slots available in specific universities). They must have a General Weighted Average (GWA) of at least 93% or its equivalent, with no subject grade below 86% or its equivalent, and 90% and above grades in High School (Grade 7-12) subjects aligned to their intended college course.

Applicants must not be a child of a Security Bank employee, must not have another family member currently admitted to the scholarship within the second degree of consanguinity or affinity, and must not hold any other existing scholarship except for discounts provided by schools.

What are the Scholarship Requirements

Here are the requirements for all applicants at the application stage:

Duly accomplished Online Application Form
High School Grade 7-12 Transcript of Records with GWA (Grade 12 grades can be up to December 2025 if 2026 grades are not yet available)
Latest Parent/Guardian’s Income Tax Return (for employed) / Certificate of Indigency (for unemployed) / copy of OFW Employment Contract with Compensation
Proof of Admission / Acceptance Letter from any of the 8 partner schools
Birth Certificate of the scholar
Portrait photo of the scholar

Once admitted to the scholarship program, scholars must also submit:

Certificate of Enrollment / Registration Card for A.Y. 2026-2027
Copy of school calendar for A.Y. 2026-2027
Copy of school grading system (if the school does not use percentage grading)
Copy of course/program curriculum
Copy of Parent/Guardian’s government-issued ID (for notary)

Application Period

Applications opened on April 15, 2026. Deadlines vary by partner school:

June 15, 2026 – Chiang Kai Shek College
July 17, 2026 – Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila
July 31, 2026 – Ateneo de Manila University, University of Santo Tomas, Polytechnic University of the Philippines
August 9, 2026 – Far Eastern University, University of the Philippines Diliman
August 31, 2026 – De La Salle University

Only applications submitted online will be screened. Admitted applicants will be notified through mobile phone call and email, so applicants should ensure their contact information is active and accurate.

What are the Scholarship Benefits

Benefits vary depending on whether the scholar is enrolled in a state or private university, and are given per academic year until the scholar finishes their current education level.

State Universities

Stipend: Php 25,000 per half-semester or Php 100,000 per year, released directly to the scholar by the school
Tuition and Miscellaneous Fees: No allotment, due to the Free Tuition Law

Private Universities

Stipend: Php 12,500 per half-semester or Php 50,000 per year, released directly to the scholar by the school
Tuition and Miscellaneous Fees: Maximum of Php 100,000 per year

Financial assistance is released based on the maximum amount per year and the actual period during which classes are held.

Aside from financial assistance, scholars also gain access to internship opportunities, involvement in corporate social responsibility activities, and learning sessions provided by partner institutions.

Renewal and Termination

Scholars must renew their scholarship every school term by submitting an online renewal form, updated grading system, certificate of enrollment for the next term, grade report showing GWA, and assessment of fees. A reconsideration letter is required only if the scholar fails to meet the per-subject grade requirement.

A scholar may be terminated from the program for reasons including failure to submit renewal requirements on time, shifting to a non-eligible course, failing to meet the GWA requirement, deferring enrollment without valid health reasons, incurring a failing or dropped grade, violating school policies, transferring schools, or availing of another scholarship.
